Here is what Chairman HEC has to say about Baltistan University ! What do you think ?

Baltistan University will start working from March 2017. Chairman HEC to visit Skardu for the inauguration soon. PM has given approval of Baltistan University said HEC Chairman to Education Minister G-B Ibrahim Sanai who met him in Islamabad. He further said that Baltistan University will work under federal government & HEC. Baltistan University will be functional in March next year. Chairman HEC himself will visit Baltistan for this purpose. He will be visiting the region soon. The Federal cabinet is yet to approve this project. According to Chairman HEC Baltistan University will totally work under federal government & Higher Education Commission (HEC) as it has not any linkage to KIU. This will be a great breakthrough for the education sector Gilgit Baltistan. For now KIU is the only University in the mountainous region, although it has opened its campuses in Skardu & Hunza city. One university for the whole region is just not enough. Students have to move towards other cities for higher education due to lack of facilities at their motherland. Government must work for  Medical & Engineering universities in the region to get rid of depending on some quota seats for GB's students in Medical & Engineering colleges of the country.
