Establishment of Medical College in GB signed



Islamabad: Here a good news comes from Islamabad to the youth of Gilgit Baltistan.A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the government of Gilgit-Batlistan and the management of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, affiliated with the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University regarding the establishment of Gilgit-Baltistan’s first medical college.

The signing ceremony was performed by Vice Chancellor Professor Javed Ikram and GB Secretary for Health Rasheed Ali.Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman was also present at the occasion. 

On completion, the GB Medical College will be the first of its kind institute in the region’s history.Remember GB has not an Engineering University too. Youth from the region are demanding implementation on Baltistan University establishment which PM Nawaz had announced last year. Karakaram International University (KIU) is the only university in the region so far. Students studying medical & engineering had to travel to other cities for admissions.
